:Can you tell me if this UT2003 Map Manager is built by the same person or people who built the UT Map Manager v1.5 for Unreal Tournament?

No. The only other program I wrote for UT was UTSU which made installing of downloaded files and mods easy from CD's.

:Is it pretty safe and easy to use? I don't like to let any utility like this to handle any system file, but the UT version was pretty good at that.

Map Manager has a few safety protocols. The main one is Smart Install. When enabled Map Manager will only install a file if its date is newer then the one already installed. You can override Smart Install in the program options should you want to overwrite existing files. If Smart Install and Smart Install Override are disabled then Map Manager will not install any files if they already exist, so your files should be safe.

Keep in mind, Map Manager will overwrite any file if it's installing a newer version (file date) when Smart Install is enabled. Should you install with Smart Install disabled, you might want to make sure that the map/mod/etc will work with the older versions of the files that might not be installed because they already exists.

:Will it also clean out the UT2k3 cache?

Yes, But you will need to enable Remove Cache Files after converting in the Program Options, the files are left in the cache folder after converting by default, this is another safety protocol Map Manager has. The reason for this is if something goes wrong at any time, you
